FORT COLLINS, Colo. — Police say no arrests were made and no injuries were reported after officers broke up political counter-demonstrations at Colorado State University on Friday.

The Fort Collins Coloradoan reports police broke up the demonstrations between supporters of President Donald Trump and anti-fascist activists after the arrival of a third group, which was armed with bats and shields and wearing masks with skulls.

Campus Police Chief Scott Harris says campus officers assisted by Larimer County Sheriff’s Office deputies successfully implemented a prepared safety plan as the protesters begin to clash.

Harris says no damage to university property was reported. He says police were only involved in minor issues before dispersing the crowd.

The demonstrations took place outside a student center where conservative activist Charlie Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA, was speaking.
