I’m very impressed with Broncos linebacker Brandon Marshall and San Francisco quarterback Colin Kaepernick for protesting what’s going on in our great country I think you may be part of the problem. The ones that keep telling these brothers to sit down have a hard time acknowledging there’s a problem. Some of my white counterparts in the criminal justice system see my community as animals and treat them that way. These are men with badges and guns, who have the authority to kill. So I’m not the problem, brother. Some of your white men officers who don’t see us as human are the problem.

Kiz: Wow. That escalated quickly. I’m with Marshall in his protest, but urged him to find more meaningful ways to take action. He met with the Denver chief of police. He’s donating $300 for every tackle to address social issues in our city. That’s a good start. Marshall is chasing rainbows. But I applaud his optimism. It might be a better approach than seeing every problem in black and white.
As so often is the case, in this anthem debate, you play the jerk (or possibly you really are). It might be hard for you to believe, but millions of Americans actually enjoy standing and honoring our flag and the men and women who have served in the military. I’m betting the only serving you have ever done is self. May the bird of paradise fly up your (fill in the blank)..

Kiz: I pick nose.
Try taking a knee at a Denver Post staff meeting. Keep your personal politics out of work! All companies agree: Work. Do your very best. Keep your politics to yourself.
– Mike, life-long Broncos fan
Kiz: I take a knee and pray every night there will be enough Post staffers tomorrow to hold a staff meeting. Oops. Is that mixing business and religion? My bad.
You think jingoism sells at NFL games? Ask a vet if it sells! You are a complete idiot. Please exit the USA any way you can, as fast as you can.

Kiz: How about we start an internet crowd-funding campaign? For the tidy sum of $2 million, I will buy my entire staff one-way tickets to Reykjavik and relocate Kickin’ It Headquarters to Iceland. Maybe you could get the ball rolling by throwing in $100,000. Deal?
And today’s parting shot is from a patriot who thinks it’s possible to love his country, salute the flag and respect a football player that takes a knee during the anthem.
I served on active duty in the U.S. military for 6 ½ years. I have stood at attention in uniform hundreds of times to honor our flag. A big part of that flag is having the freedom from persecution for one’s religious or political beliefs. Please don’t persecute Marshall or Kaepernick. I would take a knee with them, not because I disrespect the flag, but because I fought for their right to do so.
